Hafs narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Hakam and Hammad, from Ibrahim, who said: They used to dislike that conditions be imposed upon the *mukātab* (a slave in a contract of manumission) that would harm him, such as that he should not leave the city or that he should not marry.
