Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:2471

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Tariq, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Rafi' ibn Khadij, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Only three (types of people) cultivate: a man who has land and he cultivates it, and a man who is granted land and he cultivates what he was granted, and a man who rents land for gold or silver."
