Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:2612

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Jarir narrated to us, from Mughira, from al-Sha'bi, that a case was brought to him regarding a man who bought a packhorse from another man, and he wanted to return it before they had parted ways. Al-Sha'bi judged that it had become binding upon him. Then Abu al-Duha testified before him that Shurayh had been presented with a similar case, and he had allowed him to return it to the seller. Consequently, al-Sha'bi retracted his opinion in favor of the opinion of Shurayh.
