Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Usamah narrated to us, from al-Walid ibn Kathir, he said: Bashir ibn Yasar, the freed slave of Harithah, narrated to me that Rafi‘ ibn Khadij and Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah narrated to him that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade *al-muzabanah*—[which is] the [exchange of] fruit for dates—except for the owners of *al-‘araya*, for he has permitted it for them.
