Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, he said: Salamah ibn Kuhayl informed us, he said: We were sitting with Shurayh when a group of people came to him disputing before him regarding a *‘umra* (a gift of a house for life) that had been granted to a man for his lifetime. He said: "It is his, during his life and his death." The one against whom the judgment was made turned to him, pleading with him. Shurayh said: "This man has blamed me for a matter that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had already judged."
