Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn Yunus narrated to us, he said: Abu Abd al-Rahman Baqi ibn Makhlad narrated to us, he said: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shayba narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn al-Hasan, from his mother, Fatima bint Husayn, that Zayd ibn Harithah arrived—meaning from Ayla—and he was in need of a mount, so he sold some of them. When he arrived to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he saw a woman among them weeping. He said: "What is the matter with her?" It was informed to him that Zayd had sold her child. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him: "Return him or buy him back."
