Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:2860

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sahl ibn Yusuf narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, he said: I wrote to Nafi‘ asking him about the members of a household belonging to a man; is it permissible to separate them? He said: He replied, "I do not know that to be forbidden, but it is disliked according to us."
