Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:3086

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Al-Mas'udi narrated to us, from Abu Husayn, who said: A man sat with Al-Qasim and said: "What used to Shurayh do with a false witness when he caught him?" He said: I said: "He used to write his name down. If he was from the Arabs, he would send him to the mosque of his people, and if he was from the Mawali (non-Arab freedmen), he would send him to his marketplace, so that he might inform them of that [deed] of his."
