Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:3106

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ubaydullah narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Shubruma and Ibn Abi Layla, regarding a ship that is rented out at sea, then it breaks while it has cargo in it. Ibn Shubruma said: "He is not liable for damages." Ibn Abi Layla said: "He is liable for damages." Sufyan said: "We do not see any liability upon him."
