Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:3184

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Mu'tamir narrated to us, from his father, from al-Mughirah and al-Sha'bi, regarding a man who was deceived and there was suspicion in his division (of inheritance/property), so he deceived him into emancipating him, then he learned of that afterwards. They both said: His emancipation is valid, and he is to be emancipated from the wealth of the one who deceived him, and the *wala'* (right of patronage) belongs to him.
