Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Husayn, that a man broke a *tanbur* (lute/musical instrument) belonging to another man. He disputed with him before Shurayh, and he (Shurayh) did not hold him liable for anything.
