Hadith 13:3292
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Shababa bin Sawwar narrated to us, he said: Layth bin Sa’d narrated to us, from Bukayr, from ‘Iyad bin ‘Abd Allah bin Sa’d, from Abu Sa’id, who said: A man was afflicted during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, regarding fruits he had purchased, and his debt became large. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Give charity to him." So the people gave charity to him, but that did not reach the fulfillment of his debt. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Take what you have found, and you have nothing but that"—meaning the creditors.
