Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:3364

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Husayn ibn Abi Hamzah, from Ibrahim, who said: The shepherd is held liable if he is herding for you alone; [but if he is herding for others as well], there is no liability upon him.
