Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Azhar narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, who said: It was mentioned to us that Ibn ‘Umar used to buy on credit until a time of ease. He [the narrator] became angry and said: He only used to buy from people whom he knew and who knew him, and he would delay them for a year or two, while he possessed properties that, had he wished, he could have sold to pay them off. And Ibn ‘Umar, when he became at ease, would pay.
