Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:348

Mu'tamir narrated to us, from Qurrah, from Harun ibn Ri'ab, from Sinan ibn Salamah, who said: I was in Bahrain, and I was among some young boys picking dates that had fallen. Suddenly, Umar came upon us, and the boys followed me. I stood up and said, "O Commander of the Faithful, it is only what the wind has blown down." He said, "Show it to me." When I showed it to him, he said, "Go." I said, "O Commander of the Faithful, divide it among these boys now, for if you leave me, they will snatch what I have." He said, "So he walked with me until I reached my place of safety."
