Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:363

Waki’ narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn al-Mubarak, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman, the freed slave of Sa’d, who said: We descended to the side of a wall belonging to a *dihqan* (landowner). Sa’d said to me: "If it pleases you to be a true Muslim, then do not take anything from it." He gave me a dirham and said: "Buy with some of it dates, and with some of it fodder."
