Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Samad ibn Abd al-Warith narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Qatadah, that a woman gifted the *wala’* (patronage rights) of her freed slaves to her husband. Hisham ibn Hubayrah said: As for me, I see it as belonging to her husband as long as he lives, and when he dies, I return it to the heirs of the woman.
