Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Abi Za'idah narrated to us, from Ibn Salim, from al-Sha'bi, who said: Do not enter into a *salam* (forward sale) contract for anything unless there is something in the hands [of the seller] that is being looked at.
