Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:542

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi Za’idah narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from ‘Abd al-Malik ibn Iyas, that ‘Amir and Ibrahim met. He asked them about a man who seeks goods from a man, and he (the seller) does not have them, so he buys them and then calls him to them. Ibrahim said: "That is disliked." And ‘Amir said: "There is no harm in it; if he wishes to leave it, he leaves it."
