Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:685

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-A’la narrated to us, from Hisham, from al-Hasan and Muhammad, they both said: If a portion of the price was paid in cash and the goods were held as collateral for the remainder, and the goods perished, then it is [accounted for] by what it was held as collateral for. And he [the seller] keeps what he had already taken. If it was a sale of something that is measured or weighed, it is judged against the seller until the buyer fulfills [the payment] to him.
