Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:768

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Shu’bah, from al-Hakam, from Shurayh, regarding a man who transfers a man [to another debtor], then he (the creditor) becomes negligent (in collecting). He said: He does not have recourse against the first (debtor).
