Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:780

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Mughira, from Ibrahim, who said: If a man takes land as a pledge, he has no right to work anything in it. If he does work [in it], the equivalent rental value of it is calculated for the owner of the land from his pledge.
