Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Al-A’mash narrated to us—perhaps from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, because Al-A’mash narrated it to him from Abu Hurayrah; Abu Bakr extracted this in his Musnad—he said: Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, from Al-A’mash, and he mentioned it with its meaning from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are three whom Allah will not speak to on the Day of Resurrection: A man who withheld from a wayfarer the surplus of water he had; a man who swore an oath regarding his merchandise after the afternoon (Asr), meaning falsely; and a man who pledged allegiance to an Imam—if he gave him [what he wanted], he fulfilled it, and if he did not give him from it, he did not fulfill it."
