Hadith 21:115
Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Sa’d al-Ansari, who said: Abdullah ibn Yazid ibn Rabi’ah al-Dimashqi narrated to us, who said: Abu al-Darda’ said: I set out in the middle of the night one night toward the mosque. When I entered, I passed by a man who was prostrating, and he was saying: "O Allah, I am fearful, seeking refuge, so grant me refuge from Your punishment; and I am a needy beggar, so provide for me from Your bounty. I am not one who has sinned and is offering an excuse, nor one who has power and is seeking victory, but rather I am a sinner seeking forgiveness." He said: So Abu al-Darda’ spent the morning teaching them to his companions, out of admiration for them.
