Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 21:226

Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham narrated to us, from Sharik, from Abu Hashim, from Abu Mijlaz, from Qays ibn 'Abbad, who said: 'Ammar led us in prayer, and it was as if they disapproved of it. So it was said to him regarding that, and he said: "Did I not complete the bowing and the prostration?" They said: "Yes." He said: "For I have supplicated to Allah with a supplication I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): 'O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over the creation, grant me life as long as You know life is better for me, and take my soul when You know death is better for me. O Allah, I ask You for the word of sincerity in anger and pleasure, and moderation in wealth and poverty, and Your fear in the unseen and the witnessed. And I ask You for contentment with the decree, and I ask You for a bliss that does not run out, and a coolness of eyes that does not cease, and the delight of life after death, and the delight of looking at Your Face, and a longing to meet You. And I seek refuge in You from a harmful distress and a misleading trial. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith and make us guides who are guided.'"
