Hadith 21:240
Waki’ narrated to us, Malik ibn Mighwal narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Buraydah, from his father, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard a man saying: "O Allah, I ask You by the fact that You are Allah, the One, the Eternal Refuge (As-Samad), who neither begets nor is born, and to whom there is none equal." He said: "He has asked Allah by His Greatest Name, which, if He is called upon by it, He answers, and if He is asked by it, He gives."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا مالك بن مغول عن عبد الله بن بريدة عن أبيه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم سمع رجلا يقول اللهم إني اسألك بأنك أنت الله الأحد الصمد الذي لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا أحد فقال لقد سأل الله باسمه الأعظم الذي إذا دعي به أجاب وإذا سئل به أعطى
