Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 21:266

Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, he said: A man from the people of the mosques narrated to me before the [Battle of] al-Jamajim, he said: I was informed that 'Isa ibn Maryam, peace be upon him, used to say: "O Allah, I have reached the morning possessing no power over what I hope for myself, and I am unable to repel from it what I dislike. The good has reached the morning in the hand of someone other than me, and I have reached the morning mortgaged by what I have earned. So there is no poor person poorer than me. Do not make my affliction in my religion, do not make the world my greatest concern, and do not empower over me one who does not have mercy on me."
