Hadith 21:389

Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Uthman bin Hakim narrated to us, Amir bin Sa’d informed us, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came one day from Al-Aliyah. When he passed by the mosque of Banu Mu’awiyah, he entered and prayed two rak’ahs in it, and we prayed with him. He supplicated to his Lord for a long time, then he turned to us and said: "I asked my Lord for three things; He granted me two and withheld one from me. I asked my Lord not to destroy my nation by famine, and He granted it to me. I asked Him not to destroy my nation by drowning, and He granted it to me. And I asked Him not to place their might among themselves, but He withheld it from me."
