Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 21:390

Waki’ ibn al-Jarrah narrated to us, from Kathir ibn Zayd, from al-Muttalib ibn ‘Abd Allah, that Abu Bakr used to say: "O Allah, make the best of my life its end, and the best of my deeds its conclusion, and the best of my days the day I meet You." He said: And ‘Umar used to say: "O Allah, protect me with Your rope, provide for me from Your bounty, and make me preserve Your command."
