Hadith 21:4
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from 'Asim al-Ahwal, from Abu 'Uthman and 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: I do not say to you except what the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, stinginess, cowardice, senility, and the punishment of the grave. O Allah, give my soul its piety, You are its guardian and its master, You are the best of those who purify it. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, a soul that is not satisfied, a heart that does not humble itself, and a supplication that is not answered."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا أبو معاوية عن عاصم الأحول عن أبي عثمان وعبد الله بن الحارث عن زيد بن أرقم قال لا أقول لكم إلا ما كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول اللهم إني اعوذ بك من العجز والكسل والبخل والجبن والهرم وعذاب القبر اللهم آت نفسي تقواها أنت وليها ومولاها أنت خير من زكاها اللهم إني أعوذ بك من علم لا ينفع ونفس لا تشبع وقلب لا يخشع ودعاء لا يستجاب
