Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Habib, from 'Urwah ibn 'Amir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was asked about *al-tiyarah* (omen-taking). He said: "The truest of it is *al-fa'l* (a good omen), and it does not turn a Muslim away. So if you see something of *al-tiyarah* that you dislike, say: 'O Allah, none brings about good deeds except You, and none takes away evil deeds except You, and there is no power and no strength except by Allah.'"
