Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Harmala, who said: I departed with Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, and we said, "This is the crescent moon, O Abu Muhammad." When he saw it, he said, "I believe in the One who created you, then fashioned you, then proportioned you." Then he turned to me and said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when he saw the crescent moon, used to say like this."
