Waki’ ibn al-Jarrah narrated to us, from Sufyan, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from Khaythama, who said: They used to consider it recommended, when the deceased was placed in the grave, to say: "In the name of Allah, and in the way of Allah, and upon the creed of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. O Allah, protect him from the punishment of the grave, and the punishment of the Fire, and the evil of Satan."
