Waki' and al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, from Sufyan, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Isa, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Thawban, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Nothing repels the decree except supplication, and nothing increases the lifespan except righteousness."
