Ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Abu Ja’far, the food seller, who said: Abu Ja’far used to say: "I seek refuge in Allah from the devil, the sultan, the evil of the Nabataean when he becomes Arabized, and the evil of the Arab when he becomes Nabataeanized." It was said: "And how does the Arab become Nabataeanized?" He said: "When he adopts their ways and their attire."
