Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 37:166

Yazid narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Ali ibn Zayd, from Khalid ibn al-Huwayrith, from Abdullah ibn Amr, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "The signs are like beads arranged on a string; when the string is cut, they follow one another."
