Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 37:186

Marwan ibn Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-'Ala' ibn Khalid, from Shaqiq, who said: 'Abdullah said: "Indeed, you have been afflicted with this authority. If he acts justly, then for him is the reward and upon you is gratitude. And if he acts unjustly, then upon him is the burden of sin and upon you is patience."
