Hafs narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Zayd, who said: Hudhayfah said: "Indeed, for the tribulation (fitnah) there are pauses and surges. If you are able to die during its pauses, then do so." And he said: "Wine, in its pure form, is not more destructive to the intellects of men than tribulations."
