Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 37:290

Yahya ibn Isa narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Makhul, from a man who said: We were with Hudhayfah. He took some pebbles and placed some of them on top of others, then he said to us: "Look, what do you see of light?" We said: "We see something faint." He said: "By Allah, falsehood will surely ride over the truth until you do not see of the truth except what you see of this."
