Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Uyaynah ibn Abd al-Rahman informed us, from his father, from his brother Rabi'ah ibn Jawshan, who said: I arrived in the Levant and entered upon Abdullah ibn Amr. He said: "From whom are you?" We said: "From the people of Basra." He said: "Nay, rather, prepare yourselves, O people of Basra." We said: "With what?" He said: "With provisions and water skins. The best wealth today is camels upon which a man carries his family and provides for them, and a sturdy, strong horse. For by Allah, the Banu Qantura are about to drive you out of it until they make you in the desert." He said: We said: "And who are the Banu Qantura?" He said: "As for in the Book, this is how we find them, and as for the description, it is the description of the Turks."
