Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Thabit ibn Thawban narrated to us, from his father, from Makhul, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Malik ibn Yukhāmir, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The flourishing of Jerusalem is the ruin of Yathrib, and the ruin of Yathrib is the outbreak of the Great War (al-Malhama), and the outbreak of the Great War is the conquest of Constantinople, and the conquest of Constantinople is the emergence of the Dajjal." Then he struck with his hand upon the thigh of the one who narrated to him—or his shoulders—then said: "Indeed, this is the truth, just as you are here, or just as you are sitting," meaning Mu'adh.
