Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 37:401

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Sulayman al-Taymi informed us, from Abu Nadra, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) met Ibn Sayyad, and with him were Abu Bakr and Umar—or he said: two men. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to him, "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" Ibn Sayyad said, "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "I believe in Allah and His Messengers." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "What do you see?" Ibn Sayyad said, "I see a throne upon the water." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to him, "You see the throne of Iblis upon the sea." He said, "What do you see?" He said, "I see two truthful ones or two liars." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "It has been confused for him, so leave him."
