Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Qays, from al-Haytham ibn al-Aswad, who said: I went out as a delegate during the time of Mu'awiyah, and there was with him on the couch a red-complexioned man with many wrinkles on his face. Mu'awiyah said to me, "Do you know who this is? This is Abdullah ibn Amr." He said: So Abdullah said, "From whom are you?" I said, "From the people of Iraq." He said, "Do you know a land before you with much saline soil, called Kutha?" I said, "Yes." He said, "From it the Dajjal will emerge." He then said, "Indeed, for the wicked after the righteous, there are one hundred and twenty years; no one among the people knows when the beginning of it enters."
