Hadith 37:412
Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-Mujalid, from al-Sha’bi, from Fatima bint Qays, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed Dhuhr one day, then ascended the pulpit, and the people found that strange, as some were standing and some were sitting, and he had not ascended it before that except on Friday. He signaled to them with his hand to sit, then said: "By Allah, I did not stand in this place of mine for a matter that benefits you out of desire or fear, but Tamim al-Dari came to me and told me news that prevented me from taking a midday nap due to joy and delight of the eye." "Behold, the cousins of Tamim al-Dari were caught by a storm at sea, and the wind drove them to an island they did not know. They sat in the boats of the ship and ascended, and there they were with a black, shaggy creature with much hair. They said to it: 'What are you?' It said: 'I am al-Jassasah.' They said: 'Inform us.' It said: 'I will not inform you, nor will I ask you about it, but this monastery—you have observed it, so go to it, for there is a man in it who is eager to inform you and for you to inform him.'" "So they went to it and entered upon him, and there they were with an old man bound in iron, tightly bound, with much hair. He said to them: 'Where are you from?' They said: 'From al-Sham.' He said: 'What have the Arabs done?' They said: 'We are a people from the Arabs.' He said: 'What has this man done who has emerged among you?' They said: 'A people opposed him, and Allah granted him victory over them, and their command today is unified, their God is one, and their religion is one.' He said: 'That is better for them.'" "He said: 'What has the spring of Zughar done?' They said: 'They irrigate their crops from it and drink from it for their watering.' He said: 'What has the palm tree between Amman and Baysan done?' They said: 'It yields its fruit every year.' He said: 'What has the Lake of Tiberias done?' They said: 'Its sides are overflowing with the abundance of water.'" "Then he let out three sighs, then said: 'If I were to escape from these bonds of mine, I would not leave any land without treading it with these two feet of mine, except for Tayyibah (Medina); I have no authority over it.'" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "To this my joy has reached. This is Tayyibah. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no narrow or wide path in it except that there is an angel upon it with a drawn sword until the Day of Resurrection."
