Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih informed us, he said: 'Amr ibn Qays al-Kindi informed me, he said: I heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As say: "Among the signs of the Hour is that speech will be manifested and hoarded, the wicked will be raised, and the virtuous will be put down. The *Mathani* will be read to them, yet none of them will find fault with it." He said: I asked, "What is the *Mathani*?" He said, "Every book other than the Book of Allah."
