Jarir narrated to us, from Abd al-Aziz ibn Rufay’, from Shaddad ibn Ma’qil, who said: Abdullah said: "It is imminent that you will not take from Kufa a dirham nor a dinar." I said: "And how is that, O Abdullah ibn Mas’ud?" He said: "A people will come whose faces are like hammered shields, until they tie their horses at as-Sawa’. Then they will drive you out to the places where the wormwood grows, until a camel and provisions will be more beloved to one of you than a palace from these palaces of yours."
