Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 37:495

Waki’ narrated to us, from Abu Ja’far, from al-Rabi’, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, from Abu [al-Darda’], who said: "He is the One capable of sending upon you punishment from above you or from beneath your feet, or to confuse you into sects and make you taste the violence of one another." He said: "These are four traits, and all of them will inevitably occur. Two of them passed twenty-five years after the death of the Prophet, peace be upon him: they were confused into sects, and they tasted the violence of one another. And two are inevitably occurring: the sinking into the earth (al-khasf) and the stoning (al-rajm)."
