Hadith 37:5
Waki’ narrated to us, from Hammad bin Najih, from Abu al-Tayyah, from Sakhr bin Badr, from Khalid bin Subay’—or Subay’ bin Khalid—who said: I came to Kufa and brought beasts of burden from it. I was in its mosque when a man came, and the people had gathered around him. I said, "Who is this?" They said, "Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman." He said: So I sat with him, and he said: "The people used to ask the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about the good, and I used to ask him about the evil." He said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, have you seen this good that we were in? Was there evil before it, and will there be evil after it?" He said, "Yes." I said, "What is the protection from it?" He said, "The sword." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will there be any remainder after the sword?" He said, "Yes, a truce." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is after the truce?" He said, "Callers to misguidance. So if you see a Caliph, then stick to him, even if he flays your back with beating and takes your wealth. But if there is no Caliph, then flee until death comes to you while you are biting onto a tree." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is after that?" He said, "The emergence of the Dajjal." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what will the Dajjal bring with him?" He said, "He will bring a fire and a river. Whoever falls into his fire, his reward will be mandatory and his sin will be removed. And whoever falls into his river, his reward will be removed and his sin will be mandatory." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is after the Dajjal?" He said, "If one of you were to breed his mare, he would not ride its foal until the Hour is established."
حدثنا وكيع عن حماد بن نجيح عن أبي التياح عن صخر بن بدر عن خالد بن سبيع أو سبيع بن خالد قال أتيت الكوفة فجلبت منها دواب فإني لفي مسجدها إذ جاء رجل قد اجتمع الناس عليه فقلت من هذا قالوا حذيفة بن اليمان قال فجلست إليه فقال كان الناس يسألون النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الخير وكنت أسأله عن الشر قال قلت يا رسول الله أرأيت هذا الخير الذي كنا فيه هل كان قبله شر وهل كائن بعده شر قال نعم قلت فما العصمة منه قال السيف قال فقلت يا رسول الله فهل بعد السيف من بقية قال نعم هدنة قال قلت يا رسول الله فما بعد الهدنة قال دعاة الضلالة فإن رأيت خليفة فالزمه وإن نهك ظهرك ضربا وأخذ مالك فإن لم يكن خليفة فالهرب حتى يأتيك الموت وأنت عاض على شجرة قال قلت يا رسول الله فما بعد ذلك قال خروج الدجال قال قلت يا رسول الله فما يجيء به الدجال قال يجيء بنار ونهر فمن وقع في ناره وجب أجره وحط وزره ومن وقع في نهره حط أجره ووجب وزره قال قلت يا رسول الله فما بعد الدجال قال لو أن أحدكم أنتج فرسه ما ركب مهرها حتى تقوم الساعة
