Abu Usama narrated to us, he said: Mujalid narrated to us, he said: 'Amir informed us, he said: Fatima bint Qays informed me, she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out one day at midday to pray. She said: Then he ascended the pulpit, and the people stood up. He said: "O people, sit down, for I have not stood in this place of mine out of desire or fear." And that was because he ascended the pulpit at an hour he would not usually ascend it. "But Tamim al-Dari came to me and told me news that prevented me from taking a midday nap due to joy and coolness of the eye, so I wanted to spread Tamim's news to you. He informed me that a group of his cousins boarded the sea, and a violent windstorm struck them, which drove them to an island they did not know. They sat in the ship's boats until they reached the island, and there they found a black, shaggy, hairy creature; they did not know if it was a man or a woman. They said: 'Will you not inform us?' It said: 'I will not inform you, nor will I ask you for anything. But this monastery, you have looked at it, and in it is someone who is eager for your news, and to inform you and be informed by you.' They said: 'Who are you?' It said: 'I am the Jassasah.' So they went until they reached the monastery, and they asked permission, and it gave them permission. There they found an old man, bound with heavy bonds, showing sadness, complaining much. They greeted him, and he returned the greeting and said: 'Where are you from?' They said: 'From Ash-Sham.' He said: 'Who are you from?' They said: 'From the Arabs.' He said: 'What have the Arabs done? Has their Prophet appeared yet?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'What have they done?' They said: 'A people opposed him, but Allah gave him victory over them, and today they are united.' He said: 'That is better for them.' And he mentioned in it: 'Believe in him, follow him, and believe him.' He said: 'That is better for them.' He said: 'Are the Arabs today, except for their god, of one concern and one word?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'That is better for them.' He said: 'What has the spring of Zughar done?' They said: 'It is good; its people drink from it with their lips, and they irrigate their crops from it.' He said: 'What has the palm tree between Amman and Baysan done?' They said: 'It yields its fruit every year.' He said: 'What has the Lake of Tiberias done?' They said: 'It is full, its sides overflowing from the abundance of water.' He sighed, then sighed, then sighed again, and said: 'If I were to escape or get out of these bonds of mine or this place of mine, I would not leave any land except that I would tread upon it with these two feet of mine, except for Tayyibah; I have no way or authority over it.' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'To this my joy has reached. This is Tayyibah. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, this is Tayyibah.' Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) swore: 'It has no narrow or wide path, in plain or mountain, except that there is an angel upon it with a drawn sword until the Day of Resurrection. The Dajjal cannot enter it against its people.' Mujalid said: 'Amir informed me, he said: I mentioned this hadith to al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, and al-Qasim said: I bear witness regarding Aisha that she narrated this hadith to me, except that she said: "The two sanctuaries are forbidden to him: Makkah and Madinah."' 'Amir said: 'I met al-Muharrir ibn Abi Hurayrah and narrated to him the hadith of Fatima (Aisha). He said: I bear witness regarding my father that he narrated to me just as you narrated to me from Fatima (Aisha), not missing a single letter, except that my father added one chapter to it: He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointed with his hand toward the East nearly twenty times.'
