Al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from al-Qasim ibn al-Harith, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah ibn Utbah, from Ibn Mas’ud, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to Quraysh: "This matter is among you, and you are its guardians, as long as you do not commit an act for which Allah will strip it from you. If you do that, Allah will empower over you the worst of His creation, who will peel you as a rod is peeled."
